Jesse Lipcon
Jesse is an advisor partner of NewCoGen and serves on the External Advisory Committee of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Johns Hopkins University and has been a DALI advisor since February of 2002.
Experience
Jesse has 35 years of engineering and business management experience including 28 years with DEC and Compaq.
He managed several multi-billion-dollar computer system businesses as VP, Alpha Technology leading Compaq's solutions and marketing activities in the High Performance Technical Computing market and achieving #1 market share in 2000. He served as VP of Compaq's High Performance Server Division, Digital's Unix and OpenVMS Systems Business Unit, responsible for Product Management and Development in Digital's Systems Business Unit, OpenVMS Systems business, Systems Marketing efforts, and Windows NT program. He started the MicroVAX Systems Business, achieving over $1B in revenue in its first year.
Jesse's engineering contributions in the areas of real-time I/O and data acquisition, design and evolution of the Q-Bus, development of the MINC laboratory PC, and design of the 10-Mbit/sec Ethernet physical channel include seven patents in the areas of computer systems and networking. He holds bachelors (1965) and masters (1966) degrees in electrical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was elected to Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu.
